i'm considering sending my HH down for the zipper mod and am looking for other Canadians who have it already.
just wondering if you encountered any customs hassles when bringing it back across the border...any brokerage fees...taxes...etc.
how did you ship it down...UPS...Canada Post...and how much did shipping cost you?

Several have had the mod done. Hopefully they'll chime in...some HF members are Supertramp, Rug, MichaelLomas, Dale.
I believe the "trick" to avoiding customs charges is to be sure and document that the hammock is being sent out of the country for "repair/modification".
I have more info on shipping if you want to submit the form on my website.

no problem here-i avoid UPS whenever possible as that is almost a guarantee of some sort of charge.also, marking it (truthfully) as a repair or alteration should not even justify a duty or customs charge.anyway all i can say is i had no problems with sending or receiving but like i said "avoid UPS"
I had about $12 of duty charged to me when I got my hammock back. It was sent via Canada Post there & USPS back.
The quality of the work was top-notch, and I plan on sending them my second hammock very soon.
