Hi all,
I am Mike, I am a groundling looking to make the jump to hammocks. I have camped (20 years) and hunted (10 years) while I might not get the amount of time I would like afield I have been at it for a while. I am just starting to explore the hiking/camping adventures and I am finding that hammocks seem to be well liked. I look forward to learning from, sharing with and camping with you all in the future.
Mike
Welcome Mike,
I am learning very much from this group of fanatics.
You'll not go to ground again :)
There's a Pine Barrens HANG the end of January.
I'll dig the link up, if someone doesn't get to it first.
It'll be a great chance to see so many variations of hammock and stuff and
hangers...and learn from the experienced guys.
The techniques of hanging are advancing at a stunning pace..and DIY!!!!

Watch out for that recoil when hunting from your hammock. :D
It's nice to meet you Mike. I'm David and I've been here at the forum for a little while now—great place, friendly people. Hope you will find hammock happiness.

Welcome to the Hammock Forums. Great to see another Jerseyan join us. Come to the Pine Barrens Hangout even if you only are a ground dweller or just come for the day. Its a great bunch. And its a great place to see what others are doing and using.
Mike - Greetings from north Jersey. Hope to see you at the pine barrens hang.

yes it is an additiction. Great group of people willing to offer their experiences with various situations regarding hammocks, tarps, and insulation.
oh BTW... the addiction gets expensive. I'm about to drop another $1K on gear to bring my summer pack to a base weight of 16.5lbs.
