Hi All
I thought this topic worthy of it's own thread and so as not to hijack this thread to much, Home now after a GREAT hike! (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/long-distance-hiking-hammock/4301-home-now-after-great-hike.html).
So guys have you hiked in a kilt before?
Have you wanted to but were worried about what your hiking buddies might say?
Have you wanted to but were worried about all the bities?
If you do, do you wear ummm, soft bit cover all's, or go commando?
Anything I have missed.

People that hike in kilts swear by them, but I have never used one.
Rick also talks about using a breechclout or loin cloth. You can read about that here (http://www.imrisk.com/breechclout/breechclout.htm).

While I see the appeal, I'm not sure that a kilt would really suit my hiking style.
A contributing factor would also have to be where you hike. Places that have a lot of thick undergrowth along the trail (or off-trail when bushwhacking) would make it far tougher to use a kilt (snags).
Others can do as suits them, but I think I'll leave the Scottish skirts for the Scots.

go to Sport Kilt (http://www.sportkilt.com). They have kilts designed for hiking.
Yeah but do you want to look like you robbed a Brownie scout for her dress?
I do some hikes with someone who wears a kilt. I won't mention his name but his initals are Doctari. Seems to work for him. If I come across a free one (and hopefully clean) I will give it a try. Just practice proper edicite in concerning leg position.

Tag removal has to be done by a mod.
I welcome you to message any of the mods when you spot a thread with inappropriate or off-topic tags. We want the tags to be as accurate as possible, and will happily respond to those requests.
I see someone already changed them.
Angrysparrow you're a mod??

Look out, I saw some camo kilts on that page!
For those too shy to wear one, you can wear it and no one will see you in it! :p

I'm afraid so (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/hammocking-news/4189-another-great-addition-hf-moderators.html). :o
Doctori was not the only one I saw in Damascus in a skirt! Those wearing them seem to really like them. Nest wants one, but I don't think he really has the legs for it! They havn't seen the sun for 5 years and he might blind some hikers!
