View Full Version : Hey Guys
3DfourMe 06-17-2008, 00:32 I just found this forum. I hope that it is what I am looking for. Just general tips and usage for the Jungle Hammock.
Last year a friend of mine let me borrow his hammock on a "Bivy" hunt. His is one of the first models and I had no instructions. It was a little confusing and I didn't have it set up correctly but what I did find out was that I had the best nights of sleep outdoors/camping/hunting that I have ever had.
When I got home I called Clark up and ordered me the N.A.

elcolombianito 06-17-2008, 00:55 Those are really nice shots! Welcome to HF... I've been here only a while and have found the existing information extremely useful and anything I'm not able to find, I just post the question and theres always someone to help. As time has gone by, I've met the wonders of the Search tool, hope you do so too.
In case you still need some instructional information on the Clark, check out this recently posted thread:

Good Luck... not that you need it if hanging.
headchange4u 06-17-2008, 11:19 Great pics. What camera did you use?
Welcome to Hammock Forums, BTW.
Beautiful!
I'm becoming more and more convinced I need to try a Clark!
3DfourMe 06-17-2008, 15:11 I watched your video on You tube yesterday. You mentioned a forum so I went "Googling" and found it.
The pics are from the Uintah Wilderness in N. Utah
Camera is an FZ10 Panasonic. The camera takes great pics but it is a little bulky.

FanaticFringer 06-17-2008, 15:20 Stunning pics.......I'd hang there....yep.....no problem.
Narwhalin 06-17-2008, 16:00 Unreal! I have always bragged about Utah being a sleeper...so beautiful there, but no one seems to talk about it as they do places like Colorado.
Welcome to the forum! It was nice to hear you found us because of NCPatrick's video. That is a first, I am sure!
6 feet over 06-20-2008, 20:49 Welcome aboard!
Always nice to have another hunter in the mix. I actually got into the whole hammocking deal getting ready for my 2009 rookie Archery Elk trip to CO. Most hunters on forums like Archery Talk & Bowsite have said hammocks can’t handle mountain temps, but clearly the gang here would disagree.
Lots of great info here, and VERY friendly and helpful people.

NCPatrick has a video? we should put it into the video forum
3DfourMe 06-22-2008, 01:36 6 Feet. That very suspition gave me great concern. I resisted the hammock for a couple years before I finaly tried one. I met a guy last year at our Bowhunter Rendevoues (SP) who offered for me to take it. I tested it out first with a trailer parked close by.
Then I went on a four day solo hunt into the wilderness. What I found to work for me was to use my jackets (that you can see in the pic) under my bag. I used the wool under my torso and the synthetic under my legs. I don't know how cold it got, only that it did freeze because my water bottle had ice in it. I actualy was a little too warm in my -10 down bag and had to un-zip and kick a leg out to cool down.
I'm a cold sleeper and wasn't going to take a chance several miles into the back country by myself. This year I will use my +15 down bag and I have noe fears.
I do have some reserve about bears and me in my "Bear burrito" but I guess its not anymore confining than inside a sleeping bag inside a tent inside. Never had a problem with them before either. It's more in my mind than anything, I know.

Utah is amazing. Lived there for almost 20 years and in my opinion it is the best outdoors state. You can find every type of envirnment there and you dont have to get to far off the path to find them. No one talks about it because its our little secret.... Shhhhh we dont want to tails to get crowded.
3DfourMe 06-22-2008, 10:54 I realy enjoy being in Utah.
Here are a few more pics for you all. Enjoy!
