Manhunter 07-03-2009, 16:55 I just received my HH back today after having the #3 zipper mod...I am REALLY impressed. The workmanship is perfect. All my emails were answered promptly, and the turnaround time was very fast. It really makes a differance in using the HH. I would recommend that anyone with a HH have one of their three mods done, you will not regret it. They even sent me back a dollar...since I had sent in one dollar too much for the return shipping. Now that is honesty.
Another satisfied customer here! Congrats on your 2Q/ZQ mod. It does make a world of difference. The workmanship IS incredible.

Ditto! Same here. I was ready to get rid of my HH until I had 2Q/ZQ modify it with zippers. Now it's a keeper, though perhaps I now need to add a larger rain fly.

Ditto this thread. The mods make the HH easier to use. I like being able to sit and cook and lounge. Great work 2Q and ZQ and nice customer service.
Bushman of yukon 07-04-2009, 13:10 Why the zippers guys?
Bushman of yukon 07-04-2009, 13:13 Can someone tell me the purpose of the zippers!
Ramblinrev 07-04-2009, 13:33 Check their website (www.2qzqhammockhanger.com) and get the skinny on all the options. The provide three mods for releasing the bugnet from the hammock body.
Bushman of yukon 07-04-2009, 13:37 I guess I'm slow...lol! Check who's website to get the skinny?...haha!

Bushman of yukon 07-04-2009, 13:45 Thanks...I already found it. Not to sure what to think about that one though!
swampfox 07-04-2009, 17:50 Hey Bushman,
No one has ever uttered the words
"Man, I sure like this bottom entry on my Hennessey"
and if they get the zipper mod, they never will.

Sorry Swampfox.... we may be a distinct minority but we do exist. "Man, I sure do like this bottom entry on my Hennessey." And I am one of the few people who probably won't get the zipper mod done. But only because I don't have any reason to change the entry/exit system. It's the side and top exits I can't use.
Bushman of yukon 07-04-2009, 18:45 I agree Ramblinrev, I personally see no reason to fix what aint' broke...hehe! The whole purpose of the bottom entry was to make it easier to get in and out. I use the overcover in the summer too, north of 60! as it can reach nite temps as low as 0 degrees c! even in july

2Questions 07-06-2009, 16:09 Even though we offer this zipper mod service, I must say that I still use my entry slit from time to time. The zipper adds another dimension of flexibility to the hammock. For instance, when the side is unzipped, I can load or unload the hammock much easier, especially in the rain when I'm trying to stay under the fly. I use quilts now instead of my CCf pad, but I remember the days of trying to stuff the pad in the slit. Not much fun. The side zipper eliminates some stress in so many ways. Again, let me be quick to mention that if I'm trying to stay ahead of the skeeters though, the slit is quicker and more effective....assuming everything I want has been loaded and ready to go. Lastly, when I hang really high to catch a breeze or span a stream, the slit is the only way in!
Hawk-eye 08-15-2009, 12:00 My HH is in for the mod now ... I prefer the bottom slit ... 90% of the time.
Like 2Q says ... loading and setting up the hammock will be easier with the ability to open it up (I'm getting just the one sided done). Makes it easier to use as a seat ... without the risk of damaging the bug netting.
To me ... for a minimum cost and weight ... it will give me the best of both worlds (open vs enclosed hammocks).
... not to mention 2Q and ZQ are just nice people to work with.
i did a zipper mod on my ULBA like the #3 from 2Q/ZQ - now keep in mind i do a lot of thread injecting and gear making.. but if i had to do it again, i would not hesitate to send it to 2Q for the small cost of labor... its IMHO worth every red cent of $35 and then some...
and fwiw, the flexibility of having 2 seperated entry points made the ULBA 10x what it used to be.

So Bushman, what do you insulate the bottom with?
EDIT: OOPS! Never mind, I see now it is a HH SS! How does that work for you way up north?
Hawk-eye 08-20-2009, 19:39 HOT DANG ... got an email from 2Q today ... my hammock is on the way back home less than a 10 day turn around and I was third in line when they got it.
MOST EXCELLENT customer service ... wish I could find other businesses that were that good!
Hawk-eye 08-24-2009, 12:04 Well got my HH back today at the office. Went over it with a fine tooth comb. This is the most amazing work ... I dare you to even remotely find a flaw. It looks exactly like it was made this way from the get-go.
It works really well too. EXCELLENT QUALITY zippers.
I can't say enough good about the workmanship and the turn around.
THANKS 2Q and ZQ ...
Can't wait to hang in a tree!

Here's a tip for you. Many have mentioned to me about adding a 8"-12" loop onto the zipper pull. Makes reaching over your head to find the zipper pull much easier. It sure does!!

Dang good idea ... thanks! I was surprised how open it can be by dropping the net to the side completely over the ridge line on a #3 mod. I like it! Now just got to spend some time between a couple trees!
