Greetings from CA
Greetings everyone!
My name is Ryan, I go by Rackem1899, and I’m from Central California! I’ve been into hiking, backpacking and all sorts of other outdoor activities for quite a while now. However, regrettably, I have yet to have my first hang…
I did, however, receive my first hammock for Christmas this year! Nothing special, Grant Trunk Ultralight Skeeter Beeter and can’t wait to test it out once the weather is a bit nicer.
A member on another forum I frequent posted Shug’s videos of the “Frozen Butt Hang”… and it was pretty clear you guys know your stuff!
I’m looking forward to getting to know you guys and learning all about hanging!

Welcome Ryan! I'm a newbie to hanging myself, but it is great! I live just outside of the Bay Area so I am close to the mountains and the beach. Go Hang.

Welcome to HF and all the fun from Michigan!

Ok... So I've been lurking around a bit... I'm totally lost!!! There is a lot of terminology that I'm quite frankly unfamiliar with. I tried searching but all I found was the basic diagram with "suspension, ridge line, ect" I know that stuff but is there anything else that might help me? I didn't want to make a new topic on it because I'm sure it's been asked a million times... But I didn't see it in the FAQ section?

Hey Ryan, welcome from another Cally Four Onion! As to your question... HammockForums (HF) is FULL of acronyms and abbreviations. Not all of them are super obvious.
HERE is a link from a similar thread with all the other reference threads buried in it.
Take your time, enjoy, look around, and ask questions. There's a TON of info here, and good folks too!
