Need to make some tree straps. What size loops do you HF Gurus recommend for the ends? Should one end be larger than the other?
Also what are your thoughts on tree strap lengths?
Thanks for the read and your thoughts.

Its easier to pass the the loops through themselves if they are larger, I prefer bigger loops on my non dutch clip straps.
If your a UL fan, the shorter the better and 1.5" loops on a 1" is fine. I prefer 2" at least.
3" loops are plenty IMO, and don't need to be larger.
Strap length-most go for 4-6 feet, and take a couple of continuous loops as strap extenders.
I use 6ft straps with Dutch clips and soft shackles with 1" loops . :)
what are you going to put through the loop? Seems obvious but if I was doing Dutch clips it would be small loops to keep the clip aligned. Carabiners a bit bigger so they can rotate. Webbing maybe 2x the webbing width for easy threading.
My loops are about 2". I eyeballed them. I use biners for now so it works. My straps are 10' due to the size of the trees down here in Alabama. Thats just what I have.
We make our loops a tad over 2". As for lengths, 6 footers are our biggest seller.

Thanks for your input, your post makes good sense to me. Also thanks for throughing in the continious loop idea...
I"m making straps for a couple of families just getting into hammocking and getting them set up with some suspensions. Not sure if they will go with dutch clips or carabiners down the road. Was thinking about the loop size for the end going around the tree so they could pass the straps through themselves. Wasn't sure if it made sense to make the loop larger for that reason. Thanks for your info.
I thought about tree size to be a consideration for strap length. Thanks for your thoughts. WoW do you have some good sized trees in Alabama!
Thanks SmokeBait for your post. Think I'll be trying out the 2" and slightly plus for my loop sizes.
Mine are 6ft. with 1 1/2 loops on them first time use. Going to make a couple of extensions also. Probably coninue making extras and bagging them away in the evening along with extra whoopies and loops. Now to find that video on continuou loops!!!:)

Thanks for your post. + 1 on the 6ft straps, +2 on the whoopie slings and +3 on the contionous loops. Working on DIY continous the loops myself.
IMO conttinious loops a good plan for both of us. :)
Need to research how to make a continious loop too.
Thanks again for your post...
