another steep and cheap posting I have seen on this forum and , sorry , but it just makes no sense to me. what are the odds some one is going to see a post here and go there in time? so basically folks get to feel bad/sad/mad that they missed a good deal from seeing such postings. If someone wants to buy from steep and cheap they can do (and more than likely do) what I do, get one of the many SAC monitors and keep an eye on it.

I understand the helpful intentions, but ....

I agree that in most cases one is not going to see it in time, but not always the case. In addition, for those not monitoring it, many times the deals repeat so it's a good reminder to check it out.

Helpful intention is probably the motivation. There are plenty of new members here, me included, and JJ is making folks aware of what is out there. Not everyone has seen everything the internet has to offer so thanks Jeff for helping out the newcomers and those who don't spend hours on end searching and drooling over gear.

It's worth noting that for those of you running Windows Vista (and possibly Win 7) there is a sidebar widget available from the S&C site that will constantly update and show the current deal... :)

Not sure I follow the commentary ... he saw something that could benefit anyone that was online at the time and posted it. I'd say that was great. Big thumbs up in my way of looking at it.

Hawk-eye, it's easy to understand... noobie with 38 posts tells founder/moderator with over 3760 posts not to write specious alerts because there are far more efficient ways to notify people. He's got a good point, but it has resulted in many even more pointless posts, like mine here.
