Another WV new guy!
Hey all!
New guy from West Virginia. Former Boy Scout that never lost the love of hiking, camping and backpacking. Now in my 40's I'm looking to get into all the above again! :) I never really gave "hanging" much thought till I read about Hammock camping at Kifaru forums. Really peaked my interest and then I found you guys! Posted once a while back then sat back and read and researched and read some more. I think I've narrowed down some brand choices so now I'll have questions of course!

Welcome! We're looking forward to a Dolly Sods hang this summer, but maybe we'll see you at MAHHA or Hot Springs first (April). Let us know what gear you select. The hangs are good places to try out different hammocks, too.

Welcome. :D It seems hanging in the mountain state has gotten a lot more popular lately.

Woo-whooooo! We're on a roll! We might have a Hammock Forums cabal here pretty soon. The date for the Dolly Sods trip hasn't been vote on yet, but probably late August or early Sept. MAHHA hang in Maryland will be in April. If you're ever up in the Morgantown / Fairmont area, give a yell, RockRat and I have lots of hammock gear!

Welcome from the other side of the state.

West Virginia really is getting well-represented. It's good to see. Does your username indicate that you're a firefighter? You'd be at least the third in that category.

Dolly Sods is a interesting place, rode motorcycles through there back in Oct. I plan on being up at laurel fork campground the end of April for a dualsport bike ride. It will probably be my first hammock camping excursion. :D
