Greetings from Idaho
Hey! I'm a loooong time lurker. Just joined the club yesterday with a Skeeter Beeter Pro after gleaning tons of good info from this forum.
I was born and raised in Idaho, moving away for college for a few years, and back again in 2004. I'm married to a beautiful woman and we have 2 wonderful boys, ages 5 and 3. We also have an adopted Golden Retriever named by the oldest boy, "Rex".
My reasons for getting into hammocking are fairly simple; at 6'7" and 215lbs, I'm bony AND heavy. This combo makes for rough nights as a ground dweller. I'll be glad to leave that in my dust.
I purchased the SBP along with a Gear Guide 12'x12' tarp to introduce myself to this new world on the cheap. I did a test hang last night in my parents yard since mine is devoid of trees. It's safe to say I'll be replacing the stock suspension system immediately as it doesn't offer much flexibility.
I'm interested in any advice from you veterans, particularly those who have used the SBP at some point. Thanks for reading and happy hanging!

Welcome from Southern Maryland. Glad that you have found your way off the ground. You will not regret it and you be getting some of the best sleep and rest that you have ever gotten. Sorry I can't help with specific pointers for the SBP. I have no experience with them. But I am sure that others here will be able to chime in and help you out.

I think we have enough height in this forum to make an NAIA or D3 basketball team.
Welcome!

Welcome OUTCASTBLAST.
Good to see another Idahoan here on the forum. Myself and PGIBSON are the only two I've seen from Idaho. I live in Star and PGIBSON lives in Mt.Home. I'm a noob myself but have learned a lot from HF. I think you'll find the hardest thing to do, now that your a member, is to keep your wallet shut.

Been a while since I have heard that one.
Welcome, there are a few of us but not many. Be sure to read through the trip planning section, we have a few get together's planned for this year. Big one this September in the Sawtooths that has folks coming from all over the country.
Where about are you? Like Festus said there are us in the Treasure Valley area, then I know of one member in N ID, a couple on the east end of the state and a couple guys in Twin.

welcome outcastblast, I have no exp. with the skeeter beater either. But just try some stuff, what works for one wont nessarily work for the other. So as I like to say NEVER QUIT you will be surprised at what you come up with.

@pgibson, I'm in Boise. That Sawtooth get-together sounds pretty amazing. Hopefully the stars will align so I can make it ;) I did a backpacking trip to Alice Lake in 2008 and haven't been back since. It truly is an amazing place.
To all, thank you for the warm greetings. To give you a bit of an update I just purchased 4 descender rings and a couple of caribiners at REI this afternoon. I also placed an order for some 1" polypro from strapworks. There's no stopping me now!
