I know most people use 7/64 Amsteel, 2.2mm Dyneema, or 1.75 Zing It for structural ridge lines.
My question is has anyone tried 1.4mm Z-Line with a 350lb load strength? would it work or will I snap it like a twig with my 180#s in the hammock?

It depends on how you use your ridgeline.
If you use it to set the angle of your hang, then any material is fine because there is only enough tension on it to keep it taut.
On the other hand, if you use it to be able to hang between trees that are 30' apart, then 1/8" Amsteel my be more appropriate.
sounds like I will have to do some testing then! only inches off the ground! I'm pretty sure it will be fine as I usually use my ridgeline to set the hang. rarely does it ever get as tight as a guitar string.

If you are stringing your hammock really tight and want to use the ridgeline to keep proper slack then you will need something very strong, any angle greater than 120 degrees will actually multiply the force applied to it. Not sure on the math right now but I think an angle of 150 degrees doubles the forces applied.
For what its worth...
I weigh 180 lbs. I used 200 lb test Muzzy Bowfishing Line for my ridgeline. Actually took 2 strands and braided them together. I have hung with the ridgeline with some slack and as well with it guitar string tight. I am a thrasher when I sleep as well, so there must be a ton of stress on the line when it is tight. No problems so far (knock on wood).
