I was doing some research on this earlier this week and I thought this worth a try.

You can take off the suction cup and slip a lanyard on for tying or hanging
I got one at WalMart and took on a trip last week. It resets every 24 hrs so you can tell how cold it got during the night. Fairly light and tough. Around 6$.
