Suspension system on £10 budget

Anyone know of one?

Am pondering the idea of creating a daisy chain from seatbelt webbing then just crabbing to the hammock, with webbing and materials that comes to about the budget for a length of 10m seatbelt and leatherworking thread.

Other idea is to use rachet webbing in place of seatbelt webbing with built-in hooks.

That would do both tree-hugger and suspension in 1 i suspect with 5m on each side.

Any better ideas? I would look at Amsteel but can't do the backsplicing etc to save my life...

Amsteel or Dynaglide whoopie slings are a wonderful option and we sell them for under 10 pounds, the only problem is that it would cost more than that to ship across the pond. A nice option for you could be to go thru ddhammocks.com, as they are based in the UK.

Buy a piece of 1" webbing and sew or tie a loop in one end. This allows you to wrap it around the tree, pass the end through the loop to attach to the tree. Make a ~12" continuous loop out of your choice of rope and larks head it to the hammock. Tie a marlin spike hitch with toggle where you need it in the webbing and hook the loop over that. Cheap, easy and adjustable.

I use seatbelt webbing with a loop sewn into each end -- wish i had gone longer.
have used cinch straps before -- make sure yours are polyester, not nylon.
the direction I'm thinking of going is getting some 1" webbing, sewing a loop on one end, and using a pair of D-rings to make an adjustable loop on the other -- I've seen this done a couple of times with 3-5 meters of webbing on each end of the hammock and it gives you a lot of versatility for tree spacing.

No extra hardware needed- just get some webbing straps (ratchet straps?)

10m polyester webbing here cut it in half tie an overhand knot in one end and use as a tree strap to your hammock with a couple of slippery half hitches (or whatever knot you like) to your o ring.

I used that until I had the money to buy my amsteel, but whoopies are fun!:D

Going down the webbing route, going to get a 50m reel and do a variety of slings and see which i find easiest :) cheers all <3
