Hammock Hang with a focus on Photography

Just a feeler post. Would people be interested in a group hang that centers more around shooting digital outdoor images? Time frame would be sometime during the Northwoods autumn color season. General location would be somewhere along the South or Northshore of Lake Superior.

Theme & emphasis would be to share our understanding of outdoor digital photography and gain some new experience utilizing the expanded knowledge base. More so than hammock camping. Look at it from the perspective that hammock camping opens up the opportunity to take outdoor photographs.

Duration of event maybe Monday-Friday which would allow people with "normal" work schedules to have couple days of travel time plus we would miss most of the weekend crowds if any.

Format would be more or less establishing a base camp. People would then have the option of take overnights to various established or stealth photo locations or take day hikes seeking the once in a life time image. This would allow for a small to large group hang and allow individual options. Basically car camping mixed with day hiking, backpacking centered around creating hopefully some nice images.

I like the idea, but its a long long way from me.
Most every outing I carry a camera.

Sounds like a fun idea, I am a photo bug but it's a long drive from Alabama. Would be fun though!

perhaps add this to various regional hangs?
i.e. somebody who does good pics could give a little lecture/demo;
much like the Fairfield hangs have had 'class' on using splices on Amsteel, thanks to Rat and MJM..just a thought. KM

Too far for me too....I also don't know if I want to walk to far with my 150-500 on my back....lol

I always bring my camera with me as landscape photography, especially waterfalls, is my hobby. I've noticed a lot of fellow southerners have posted that they would like to go, but that it is too far. Maybe we should schedule our own trip closer to home. There are some beautiful waterfalls in the Appalachians of northern GA and SC, and southern NC.
