New Member, Old Hanger
I've been lurking around this site for a few months and decided to join now that I'm on summer vacation. This is a great site, and I've gleaned much useful information from its pages. I remember sleeping in a hammock (the nylon net type) on a backpacking trip with my dad back in 1979. I kind of got away from it as I didn't do much summer backpacking while I focused much of my time on rock climbing. Now I'm returning to backpacking and getting in to the whole "light is right" thing. I really enjoy making/inventing my own gear. I've posted a few of my hammock pictures. My next projects are a second underquilt and a second bug-net for my new diy hammock.

Welcome to the fold. From looking at your gear pictures I would say that you a really good start on things. That DIY bug is very addicting. The more you make, the you want to make. Have fun and keep us posted.

Good to have you here. I hope we'll be a help in getting those projects underway.
