I think I am driving back down to spend the night tonight, Knee ain't bad.
I just got home, WOW, a GREAT hangout!
I got to see the ruins by the lake, walked about 1/3 of the Sycamore trail, meet some good (old & new) friends & sleep outside (some in the rain ZZZZZZ!) heard an owl last night & got to play with fire.
My food kind of sucked, but that was MY fault, still, food eaten outside is always better, so I was happy! :)
Butters and I had a great time even if the weather wasn't the best on Friday. ! It was nice to see familiar faces and meeting new ones. Look forward to seeing everyone in the future.
I had left with my grandchildren and son, Jake on Friday and after waking on Saturday with very little knee pain returned to the hang. I only live 125 miles from the forest, but I put 568 miles on my car due to running into closed roads that my GPS didn't know were closed.....
It was a really great time. It was good to see everyone. There is nothing like a campfire for discussion and hearing new things. I was amazed at how everyone was so comfortable with their various styles of hanging. AaronAlso was really up to speed and has come a long way since I last hung with him which I think was his first backpacking experience. A real backpacker now.
I wish I could think of a clever way to put everyone that was there into a paragraph and show my appreciation that they all came and added to the good time, but knowing me i would leave out one or two, so "Hey Everyone, Thanks for making this a great hang."
Take a look at some of the photos here:

and also a couple here too.
It was great meeting everybody this weekend. Sadly, I was pulled away from the hang early for a school commitment on Friday and, upon getting into town, was pulled into another one for Saturday. Nonetheless, being my first hang, I had a great time, even with the cold rain.
Great hang. I really needed that time outdoors with all of you. Only issue I had was that as soon as I got home I spent 4 hours dealing with leaves in my yard. Sure wish I could just let them accumulate like they were out there in the woods....
I enjoyed the hiking, the campfire, the naps, and most of all the company. There is a video being processed right now...provided I can figure out how to use my new video software, that is. Anyway, I'll post here when it's done.
Man, I sure hate missing the good times...I hope to see you guys out soon in the woods. Cold weather hammocking is just around the corner, looking forward to seeing pics and Bonsi's famous movies....always a treat...

Missed you there, Jerry. I did get the video done, finally. New software is exciting but confusing at times. See the video here: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...830#post850830
