Noobie knot question

I'm new to hammock camping and been reading alot on here. Thanks for all the knowledge and advice you guys have. I've rigged my HH Exp. with Whoopie slings. I've got a short continous loop in each end of the hammock so I've got about a 4 inch loop. I'm trying to connect my Whoopie Sling end loop onto it. Would it be better to use a plain hitch to connect the two or use a toggle? The toggle is easier to get out since the hitch tightens down when I get in the hammock but I don't know if I'll ever need to take it apart anyway. That's the only reason I'd want to use the toggle although I would run the risk of losing the toggle (I could always use a stick). Which would be better?

Something else I just thought of. I've just put snakeskins on the hammock. Would the toggle get in the way of pulling up the snakeskins?

If you larksheaded the fixed eye of the whoopie sling on a toggle and then put the continuous loop on the knot and not the toggle, it would work but to connect the loops to the whoopie slings I'd recommend against using knots. Also a simple larkshead of the whoopie slings fixed loop on the continuous loop itself would hold but knots can derate the strength of the amsteel by a signicant amount.
To be able to quickly connect and disconnect the two take a look at Dutch Biners. They say 400lbs but IIRC Dutch tested them above 1000 lbs or something like that. If you made your whoopie slings yourself you can also undo either of the loops on the whoopie sling and insert a Dutch hook. Of course you could always go to an outdoors store and pick up some light weight climbing carabiners.

i connect the adjustable loop of the whoopie to the continuous loop on the hammock via a dutch biner... people are also using whoopie hooks by dutch

I'm not familiar with the Hennessy, but is there any reason why you can't larkshead your whoopies directly around the hammock ends?

I happen to have just bought 2 of those. I'll give those a try, didn't think about them. I didn't know that knots on amsteel wasn't good, thanks.

Your welcome. The strength can decrese by as much as 80% depending on the compression and the bends in the knot. Splicing preserves it breaking strength almost to something like 90%.

The thing is, I have used knots and still do in amsteel without issue but I like to mention the recommended ways to use it so people can decide or take any risks for themselves.

The Hennessy, or at least mine, is not a channel end hammock. The end is just gathered up straight then capped or sealed so to speak onto the end with two holes through where a cord can be threaded through and tied. There may be a name for it but again, I'm a noobie.
