August 6-9
Basecamp at Cottonwood Lakes trail head. We stayed there the first day to get acclimated to the elevation. They made fun of me for bringing a hammock. As you can see a couple of them used it to take a nap!! They changed thier minds, said it was really comfortable.
Wish I could have taken up to the lakes but we were going above the treeline. Had to use a tent and sleeping bag.
That is me in the third pic. One thing I realized is that I need a bottom quilt. It got down to about 30 degrees at night and I used a blanket on top but that cold came right thru the bottom of the hammock.
Time to research quilts.

I've never been to Mt. Langley but it's on the to-do list. Been up Whitney and most of the East side routes. Next month I'm trying the West side for four days in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness.
I ordered a Crowsnest and look forward to getting off the ground myself.
Now that you're a "Hanger", it totally changes your perspective doesn't it.
