Layering UQs - IX & Down
If you were looking to layer 2 UQs together in order to get into the lower temp comfort zone, how would you place them?
I have a HG 20 Incubator, which will likely be enough on it's own...... but I also have a DIY IX UQ that I could use in conjunction with the HG if needed.
If I was going to use the 2 together, which should be placed closest to the hammock in order to maximize heat while reducing the chance of condensation.
I would think the Incubator closest to body, then the IX over that if needed..... yes???

I have the Shamu IX and the Phoenix UQs. When it's cold enough to use both (lower teens, single digit temps and below *F), I place the IX closest to the hammock and THEN the Phoenix last.
Here's a link to a previous discussion: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ighlight=shamu

I would do it the same way since the IX is virtually a VB. If you put it outside the down uq then whatever moisture there is would be trapped in the down. IMO anyway.

I have used my IX layered with my JRB No Snivler. I put the IX next to the hammock also.

Glad I asked, thanks for the replies.

I have a Phoenix UQ and am about to DIY a full length, 3 layer IX UQ. About what temps do you guys estimate this to be good to? A very interesting system.
