Hello from Louisiana
Hello everyone, I think you have a new convert. Been a ground camper in the past and was never big on it primarily to the lack of sleep and comfort. Then, hallelujah, I have seen the light.
I was going to purchase a $200 Exped mat to sleep on but know since I am planning on switching directions to hammock camping I have been doing some research and this is what I have come up with.
I am no feather weight so I needed something that can take a hit and keep on ticking.
Kammock hammock: $99
Kammock Python Straps: $29
Hennessey Hex Tarp: $60
Total: $188
What do yall think?
Thanks for your time.

Welcome, there's a lot of info here. I'm new as well so I can't comment on what your looking at, but I'm sure some of the hammock gurus will chime in. I haven't decided what to go with so I'm using a bed sheet and poly tarp right now. I don't think I'm gonna be able to make the hang in October but I am going to try to stop in and check out some setups to give me a better idea of what I want. Again welcome to the site.

Welcome to the forums from Indiana! You can jump into the deep end and make your own hammock. Check out the DIY section. The Hennessey Hex is a good tarp for the money. Rolling your own will save you some money and gain you a lot of experience. Before you know it, you'll be making hammocks for your friends, family, neighbors, etc.
