How much is Amsteel derated if I half hitch a continuous loop to the suspension triangle of a bridge hammock for use of a Whoopie Hook? Look at first picture! Would this be considered a knot? Would it be better with a ring between the suspension and the continuous loop. Look at second picture!
May best guess is that the narrow radius of the whoopie hook will derate the amsteel as much or more than the loop attached as in the first photo.Quote:

Why can't you clip the Dutch clip to the continuous loop in the left pic but without the half hitch, just clip it straight to the continuous loop?
The triangle of the suspension needs to be centered so the hammock sits level, otherwise it will wants to dump you out. Having the continuos loop holds it centered as does the ring.
