Hi from Northern VA!
I've been lurking here for a while and been into hammock camping for some years. I've always been into camping and outdoor stuff. I think I came across an old GI hammock a number of years ago, but quickly realized it wasn't a good design, but interesting idea. A couple of years later, some real and more stable designs started coming out.
Now, I'm totally into everything hammock camping as well as kayak fishing. In my opinion, these are the 2 fastest growing outdoor activity trends in the country and maybe the world right now. I've made it a tradition to take my Dad hammock camping every Father's day, but we go more often than that. And we've documented a lot of what we've done in both activities with a lot of pics and video at http://www.kayakfishinghammockcamping.com.
Thanks and look forward to learning more and interacting with each of you.

Welcome from just down the road in Arlington, Chris. Really looking forward to checking out your website there; kayak flyfishing seems likely to be the next hobby I'll tackle.
