Thanks to MedicineMan for kicking my butt back into gear, I took the camera on of of my training hikes.
I usually go out for a walk 3 times during the week for about 1 to 2 hours, but never brought along the camera. Now I did, to show I am still alive (well as far as that goes anyway :D ). and test my new GoLite Peak backpack.
The pack was filled with some stuff I am taking on a coming hike in Khao Sok (Thailand) and I wanted to see if it performed (it did well!).
So here's to all those inspirational folks at HF!

Johan,
Great video - nice to have a chance to get to know you better. I look forward to more video from Thailand. I went to your web site and watched the 2003 Walkabout video - very enjoyable. The world is wonderful with operatic melodies floating in the air. :)

Seeing that bunker reminded me of my dutch buddies, they told me about the horrible fighting from WW2. Good to see some of the country side again.
How did you like the new pack?

Alive and kicking. 3 out of four October weekends are in the woods, last one will be combined with some scuba diving ... Thanks for watching.

Thanks WV, it just feels good to share vid's on here. Like you say, to get to know other people a bit better and who knows someday you might actually meet in real life. Thailand vid will most likely be a series. Trying to keep things short but don't always succeed
The Gonewalkabout vid was originally with Pink Floyd's Shine on you crazy diamond but that was blocked by YT.

Thanks for watching mate, plenty of bunkers around the coastline with the grisly history attached.
The pack was really good. My first pack that weighs less than 1.4 kg (3 lbs) (if I measured correctly it weighs 795 grams [28 oz]. I slowly got the pack/base weight down enough to enjoy a lighter pack too. And, this is carry on size (European airlines can be real anal about luggage sizes).
Will have a 'Thailand Trip Gear' vid available soon...

Freezing is too cold for me! The beach is pretty good. Glad you set up your hammy, and the bird watchers were watching the highly abundant bikini birds, I assume. Yes, MedicineMan is very motivating! Well, that was a good fun day on the trail, thanks for showing it, born2roam!

Goedemorgen. Echt leuk om de Noordzee te zien.
Ik heb gewerkt met veel Nederlanders en altijd al naar Nederland te bezoeken.Vooral Alkmaar dus ik kan dragen wat kaas.
I worked in Holland Village in Japan years ago and really got an interest to go there sometime.
Nice that you got out.

Thanks for watching mate! It took me about 37 years before I could enjoy cold weather wilderness. As long as I am out there, whatever the season...
Not many bikini birds around nowadays (fall)...

Thanks for watching and taking time to comment maestro! Alkmaar & cheese... mmmm have to do a comparison with that cheddar with blue berries you brought along last hike and some Dutch cheese one day.
Almost time to hit the woods again this weekend! Whoooo buddy....

Hey born2roam,
Very interesting video you made. I like to see hikes from different parts of the world. Nice beach trails there. I like the Vargo for small fires and cooking a brew of tea. Thanks for sharing with us. I look forward to more of your videos.

Well that's another one for the day from you ... rightly enjoyed that. Interesting looking beasts in the bush you have there! :woot:
Funny you mentioned Khao Sok ... one of the factory owners I deal with in Thailand wants me to accompany him hiking there. Not sure about it though, some days I can barely tolerate him in the factory!
Hope you video that trip though and thanks for sharing the training hike!
