Free Toggles
I'm sure there are many that are already aware of this but I thought i'd mention it for the few that don't know... I had a couple broken arrows that I took to Sportsmans Warehouse this past week to have cut into toggles. The guy in the archery shop had a bucket of arrows that had already been cut and just let me take as many pieces as I wanted. The arrows that you see in shops like Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, etc. are generally sold at a standard 30" long. Not everyone needs a 30" arrow so they have these shops cut the arrow down to the desired length, leaving a couple inches of arrow that just gets thrown out. If you're in need of some toggles, go to your nearest sporting goods store/archery shop and they should have a bunch of pieces from carbon arrows that they'll give you.

That is how I got my toggles. I have been hanging on some carbon fiber ones for quite a while with no noticeable wear.

I'm just going to use my trekking poles. I'm not using them when I'm sleeping any way, and I'm already carrying them.
