Thanks for the excellent report, and for posting the link to the inspirational article on Warren Johnson. Looking at the other side of the coin, I'll bet Warren Johnson is posting to his journal about the two incredible hikers, living in hammocks, that he met while hiking the Pinhoti.
I miss being able to go spend the day on the trail, I used to live in Pell City
Great times and nice pic's... thanks for sharing...
I love it when someone posts a lot of good pics.
Looks like it was a great time.
Thanks for sharing.

questions
1. was 20 miles the car shuttle or the trail length? IOW, how far was the hike? :D
2. gear list? that a ULA under that pack cover? hammock? insulation?
you know the drill!
The trail map lists that section as 16.3, but my GPS showed 19.8. Your guess about the discrepancy is as good as mine. The shuttle would have been a good bit longer than 20. Just a leisurely weekend walk.

Hey Sam. Great report and great photos as usual. That is a great section of the Pinhoti. Merry Christmas to you and Hetairoi. In fact Merry Christmas to all at Hammock Forums.
Thanks for the trip report and pics.
Fun to travel ( imagination ) where someone else has traveled; invited into the images.
