I picked up a HH after getting tired of not sleeping well while tent camping with my two cub scouts. After my coworker mentioned hammock camping, I decided to check it out.
Purchased the Hennessey Explorer zip several weeks ago and finally got to test it out the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It was a low of 42 F and I was pretty comfortable with a sleeping bag and the HH foil bubble pad. If it would have been 10 degrees colder or windy I would have been too cold.
Any ideas on how to get down to 10 or 20 F with materials I may already have at home (right now I'm too cheap too spend $100-200 for an underquilt).

Hey there....you can use your sleeping bag and some pads for sure. For now.
Check out this to insulate shoulders and stack two pads....http://www.rei.com/product/830279/en...ping-pad-wings
Have fun getting to it.
