Thought I'd post a few pics of my second DIY tarp. I finished this hex tarp a few months ago. I used Scott's design (thanks Scott!) with a small mod that included sewing a small piece of double sided velcro near the tie-outs for cord control.
Material was 1.1 sil-nylon with heavier fabric for the tie-out reinforcements. The bag was DIY with a no-see-um bottom in case the tarp is temporarily stored wet. The whole thing, including stakes, weighs in at just under a pound.

Finished my Winter Dream Tarp from DIY Gear Supply plans and gave it a test with low temps about 16 degrees with a stiff wind. It worked great, but next time I will close the doors a little tighter and I will probably add the pull-outs.
