Looking for a lightweight pair of snowshoes with aggressive crampons
How much do you weigh, and is this for deep powder, or packed trails?
I have 2 pr, one rated for 250#s( me + pack weight). Another set is for about 200#s. Atlas 833 is the larger ones, while Atlas 825 are the smaller ones. I bought them for the wife and I to enjoy the snow, but we no longer use them much. As far as the brand is concerned, I would recommend Atlas to anyone.
MSR Lightning I think is the most aggressive snowshoe out there and as a bonus, the men's 25" model weighs 51 ounces (3 lb, 3 oz).
They make a 22" and 30" version also, as well as women's versions.
If climbing mountains, the MSR Lightning Ascent model that has a bar you can raise beneath your heel to adjust for the slope. That comes with a weight penalty of 7 oz. more.
My wife and I both use these in New England where the "snow" can be very slippery.
