Ahwww ... I could do that ... well in my case it'd involve the paramedics! ;)
Gotta give the kid credit for working out that too high hammock problem! And here the rest of us would have just loosen the straps! Ha ...
That video reminded me of This thread Tried that in my wife's grand trunk single the other night, not to hard to hand but hard to roll over  and not end up falling out, let alone get over
"Ahwww ... I could do that ..."
I think I have seen that quote on a billboard somewhere.... sponsored by one of our local hospitals !
Hahahaha
That was, indeed, impressive
ROTFLMAO
Great post
Tom
I'm diggin' on that tree house. Now, that would be a cool place to hang.
Same old youthful enthusiam stunts... now let me employ my cunning experiance and wisdom of age and settle into my chair height, quilt covered hammock...:D
It is cool... and I know that I could not do that if I wanted too.... don't want too, so I'm not jealous...:)
Hiking poles are great substitutes for canes too...;) Vi va old guys... ;)
Pan
That is a great trick. I'm having fun now doing barrel rolls.
That's how Shug's wife would enter that hammock... and she would have no trouble getting out!
:)
OK ... now honestly ... who has tried it yet? I might bust my butt ... but that's really the kinda thing I'll probably try when I can hang the rig and no one's watching! ;)
I'll hold your beer.
Hawk-eye will probably have his video twin do it for him...
.
Great video the kid did. Things could sure go wrong if ya didn't get it right the first time
Maybe oldgringo could get his hairy aerobics instructor to help out... :scared:
I'm with Pan on this one, thankee... but y'all have fun.
I'm gonna go make some popcorn for the movies.
Once a redneck ... always a redneck Cannibal ....
Even old Gorge Rats can learn a new trick now and then! ;)
The Challenge ...
Rock on Hawk-eye!
So now the real question; where are the outtakes?
Surprisingly ... none ... set it up and did one ... no big issue even for a fat boy. Then shot that clip and honestly that was it. If you notice I did it over a mossy area .... JUST IN CASE. Actually the clip ... I did it a little too high. Should have tried locking the elbows a little lower.
Think I deserve a Guinness now with my sam'ich! ;)
You are the Man, Hawk-eye!
You look half your age when you do that!

Great work buddy! You got skills!
We have a double decker hammock in our living room and the kids both use that method to get in and out of the "top bunk". When they get playing in it they will do the "barrel roll". Looks like of like an aligator when it catches something.

Way to go Hawk-eye! Very impressive! I knew someone would try this.
Jerry
That's sweet! WTG , I don't think I'll be tryin it but I'm gonna enjoy watchin you brave souls.
What a great thread! Very entertaining!
I can't help but picture hammock forum members out in their yards trying this right now....
HamMike, thanks for posting the video!
Hawk-eye, you're awesome!
Never a dull moment here at HF !
Oh, to be young again. I wanna be like Hawk!
I do something similar with an ENO because I like to be high up.
I would like to do this with my Hyperlite, but I can see either the fabric ripping, the fabric separating from the bugnet, or the Hennessy slit continuing through the entire hammock. Do you think the Hyperlite would handle it?
I could do that,,, maybe, 20 years ago. Now, if I failed, um, well, I know ALL of the Paramedics & ER docs in town, & I know from experience they would laugh first, then treat. :D and while I'm used to being considered "not right" no need getting hurt keeping up the rep. :D
