looking for a smaller tarp then my 9-11 JRB. checked out OES. what is the difference between Silnylon and SpinnUL tarps? doesn't show them in products. was looking at the delux size.

I don't own one, but SpinnUL tarps are lighter and don't stretch like silnylon. But they are supposed to be noisier and they do cost more. I don't know if one is more waterproof than the other, but from what I understand the weight reduction is significant.
You can't go wrong with OES though!
I have an 8 x 10 cat cut speer hammock for sale if you want. It's brand new.
I have the standard size spinnul. It is great! Wish I'd gotten the next size though, but I was saving oz.
No, the SpinnUL isn't listed on Brian's site. If you PM him or email him, though, you can order that way.
Got a 11'x 10' SpinnUL cat-cut from Brian. Love it. Just tell him what you want in size and number of tie-outs, etc.
It has gotten better with use versus first couple of times out of the sack. Now it packs easier and tighter. Been through a couple of really hard rain storms and it was dry as an old bone on the inside.

Spinn is wonderful IMO. Lighter and more expensive to be sure. It is a little more noisy, but I don't notice it anymore. I generally string mine pretty tight (and it stays tight without tensioners) so the only time it makes noise is when something falls on it. I believe it is more water proof than sil ever thought about being. When you touch wet sil on the inside, your hand comes back wet. That is not the case with Spinn. I can rub a paper towel on the inside of a wet Spinn tarp and it'll come back dry.
It's tough enough to take the impact of a tree limb falling from about 30', so it passes the Cannibal test with ease. I love the stuff! My next tarp will probably be another Spinn (Deluxe this time). That is if I don't succumb to the call of the Superfly with removable doors. Soooo many tarps.
I agree with cannibal. It is noisy, but if it's hung properly, you won't notice. The OES tarps are also top notch.
