Nice stand, Kyle - glad to see the doggy seems to have thawed out

Ok, this hanging stuff really is a sickness. I built a TD stand this weekend and I don't even have a hammock (yet).
Was waiting on a sale on tablecloths, but decided to go to fabric store tonight for material. Expect to put it together and be hangin' by this weekend.

Question for y'all aficianados: How long should the spread limiter be? The legs are 7ft long, say I put the limiter a foot up from each one; how long should each stretch be between legs? Hard for me to see where a good balance is between stability and minimizing any shear stress on the legs.
Thanks to all of you that have contributed here, I read like 40 pages last night, maybe a dozen this morning, then headed to HD. Now I have the hammock set up in the bedroom, much to the other half's dismay. LOL. She'll understand... eventually. ^.^
Good Question Kyle. Yours look a little more than mine but since you don't have the top angles ala hpyfngy you can use the spread to raise or lower the hang. With a wider spread you should be able to get your tarp closer to the ground in the winter and higher for more ventilation during the summer. Might be something to experiment with.

who's gonna be 100? Been a while since I last looked at this thread.
Question for whomever... I've got (hopefully) all the supplies to make my TDS and was wondering before I make that first cut if the measurements need to be adjusted for a bridge hammock w/ a 12' tarp. Just got my WBRR a few days ago and am anxious for the tryout!
Thanks all!
Joanne
Depends on what measurements you're using!
One thing for sure, if you're planning for a 12' tarp a 10' ridge pole is going to present an immediate issue.
Don't know about the WBRR and how much room it needs... Have you hung it in the trees yet to see if you need to change the suspension?
