Hey folks :blush: - bad news... :crying

I won't be able to make it on Friday at all, and chances are strong that I wouldn't make it to Saturday until evening time... :thumbdown:

I hate to have to back out on everyone - sorry!
Please know, I don't want to cancel this, so I'll leave that up to a quorum -

Is there anyone who would be able to stand in for me on Friday?
All that would be needed is
*Meet with the Forest Ranger (making sure everything is still in order)
*Make sure no one does anything stupid like nail something into a tree - (you know, typical LNT principles of hammock camping) :shades:
*Address any concerns that the Ranger might have regarding location/placement, etc
I could meet with you at Cary SF prior to the event to point everything out if needed.

At this point everything is already taken care of with the State Forest, except the paperwork (permits, etc - which will be easy for me to finish once I finally receive it) -
So, in theory we just need folks to show up.

So far only 2 parties have paid, with only 4 parties total that have committed to showing up
I don't think its fair that we charge for anything at this point - so I will be returning the fees submitted so far (with such a small turnout, I was planning on returning the fee anyways and just asking folks to bring a specific item for the dinner and their own firewood)

Sorry to see this get canceled like this but with the drop rate I will not be driving up for the hang either.

I can still make it up on Sunday, if anyone is still interested in hanging. I'd like to get in a long ride some time soon, for sure...this seems like a good one to try.

Good question. The Rat was in GA starting the AT with the Warrior Hike guys. I haven't heard from him so I'm presuming he hasn't made it back to town yet.
