Multi-use item
A few months back I bought an Arktis smock in Dancam (the Danish Flecktarn camouflage). I like the pattern as it doesn't look too military.
I'd then thought about making a hammock from the same fabric & eventually tracked down a supplier

Spent some time last night sewing up a wind shield for my UQ but the result could also be used as a tarp (it's 3m long and 1.5m wide) or with some whipping, a hammock in its own right.
Heavy stuff, though, certainly not for the gram weenies!
Pictures to follow...

Nice pattern - can't wait to see the pictures.

I like the look and always a big plus to multi-use!

Can't wait to see your creation. I like the pattern a lot and wasn't familiar with it, at least by that name.

Just waiting on some grosgrain to be delivered so I can sew some loops on

Grosgrain came this morning & I got cracking with the sewing machine!
I've only rigged this in tarp configuration as couldn't be bothered pitching my hammock just for the photoshoot
It's a little bit "army duvet cover" but not as bad as some:

From further away (nearest footpath) it's less conspicuous:

I'm sure with a bit of natural material it would be quite stealthy

It has double loops at each corner although in retrospect, a single diagonal one would have worked fine. At least I can use these ends for attaching to the hammock loops

Quite cosy underneath and should be weatherproof. It's long enough (I ordered 3m of fabric but haven't measured it and lost about 5cm each end with the hems). It's 1.5m wide, before sewing and has bungee cord threaded through each side seam with 550 paracord each end to close it up when in UQ wind guard config (haven't fitted the cord locks yet)

I reckon it would be strong enough as a hammock but not much point as I already have 2 purpose built!

Here it is as a hammock weather protector as intended:

Worked well but needs thicker shock cord along the edges

Great job on your project. That really is a multi use piece of gear.
