at what temp should i worry about using a bottom insulator. i do most of my camping in the summer and fall. the temps at night only get to the 70s.

i've found bottom insulation to be necessary when i was out this summer in overnight temps in the low 70's. i wasn't chilled to the bone, but woke up a few times with
cold spots.
an 1/8" pad works-
uq is gonna be the best choice- a few cottage folk on here are making dedicated summer quilts

A dedicated summer UQ will take care of your temp situation most of the time but i think it would be worth it to get a 3 season UQ so your really covered and takes you into the shoulder seasons. Or you could just use a ccf pad to start with. CCF is cheap.
Doubt I'd setup w/o bottom insulation unless the temp was going to remain over 75F.
Did a hang a few weeks ago and the first night wasn't supposed to go below the low 60's but the actual low was 48F. Surprise! Can't trust those weathermen. :)
