New Indiana Hanger
Howdy! I'm just getting into hanging around and don't have much experience, yet. I've inherited a Clark UL that I used last spring in MO on a fishing trip and it withstood a ferocious downpour with nary a leak. I"m heading up to the BWCA this Sep and will try it then. (I did a solo trip in BWCA last year, but chickened out and took a tent). I've ordered a Baby Orca UQ and hope to get it in time to do some testing etc. in the back yard.
How do I find out about Hangs? They sound like a blast and I'd like to get together with some other hammockers this coming fall.

Check out Hangouts, Campouts, and Trip planning. I dont think there are any Indiana Hangs in the works at the moment but I know there was talk at once time of doing a fall hang. Spring Hoosier Hang was great. Wish you could have been with us. Welcome to the forums.

Welcome to the fold. This is the right place to find out about everything to do with hammocks.

Welcome! StayPuft is trying to put together a hike. Next Spring, I'll probably put on another two day backpacking trip. Lots of info on the forum and friendly people.

Right nice inheritance! Glad to have you with us ... have you checked out Shug's Video Series on the basics? Good stuff and lots of laughs!

chiefbob--Hammocker "Arson" lives near you in Fishers, IN. Check out his youtube videos of you search arson hammock, should come up. He does some reviews, for instance the ENO Ember, so you could search ENO Ember, too.
Hail to you from fairly close east central Illinois. Try not to lose your hearing from all those concerts at (the former) Deer Creek Amphitheater!

You've got my curiosity... does the "Chief" in your user name come from military or Native American?
I've got a little Cherokee in me... from way back, but it still gives me a little bragging rights;)

Where is Linville Gorge? If it is anywhere near Linville, NC, it is probably 9+ hours away from the newbie. I'd like to make it to a Gorge trip sometime too, but that 7+hr drive time is a little much when the trips only last a couple days anyway.
