Have any of you tried using a Thermacell clipped to your hammock instead of bug netting? I use it while hunting and just wondered if it would work all night long?

I have a thermacell and I would not go without a bugnet. I've been places where the buzzing of mosquitoes will keep you awake, I would not trust the Thermacell to keep them away.
I don't think it will work all night long. Besides, it's burning butane and that is something you want to monitor. Go bug net. Save the thermacell when you are awake.

I <3 Thermacells. That said, sometimes they are not 100% effective, they are bulky, heavy, and cost more to run than a net. Net for the win.
Bug net.......aka "F B"
a Fronkey Bugnet
The litle blue cartridges are only suppose to last for 4 hours. My experience is that they start to lose potency before that. I think the bug net would be cheaper in the long run, and more effective. Those thermacell refills are expensive.
At 6 bucks or so a pop on the refills,,only good for 12 hrs or so,,bug nets are definitely cheaper,,and last longer,,wouldn't take long to pay for a good bug net.
My bugnet is effective, light, small, and has never failed me. Need I say more? :D
Yep, I'm voting bugnet for sure!
You are all awesome. Thanks for your experienced answers. Looks like the bug net is the winner.
