So the BlackBird is here.
Now - I just need some trees to test it out (and a willing mentor - I've never set up a hammock).
looks good Brandon - Can't wait to try it out.
Cheers,

Alan is going to give me a short photo-tutorial and if that doens't work (sometimes I can be slow) I hoping we can meet up for a live tutorial.
it's easy, just get 2 biners, put them in the webbing loops. clip webbing around the trees, adjust webbing at the tri-rings, tie slipped half hitch behind rings. thats it. you might adjust the height of the webbing on the tree and the webbing at the rings so it runs at a 25deg angle or so.
Here we go!
Attach carabiner to loop:

Clip webbing around tree:

Clip webbing around other tree:

Adjust webbing at each end:

Tie half-hitch at each end:

Spread out each wing, stake them down, adjust if needed:

looks good, if the wavy-ness in the netting doesn't flatten out once you weight it, try tightening the shockcord some.
it probably wouldn't hurt to have the straps higher on the tree and have them run downhill at a steeper angle. just play around with it.
oops, thought that was counselor setting it up for the first time. you've probably got it figured out already.
Thanks guys - I need to buy two stakes :)
