Grizz - my preferred webbing huggers are 1.5" seat belt webbing - uses the same size spike as our 1" seat belt webbing. One time I even used a 1/8" rod, worked fine on the 1.5" webbing. I was thinking at the time that if I could find a way to attach it to the MSLS or the webbing or something so that it wouldn't get lost, I would use that all the time since pulling it is super slick.
Paul - if you offered some really exotic wood with a beautiful grain and nice color - even I would buy some of those.
Say 1/2"x2.5".
1/4"x2.5" would be very, very good.
i can't say that i have whoopie slings yet, but (this site is making me broke in so many ways) my friend said he can get me some bamboo shoots that i could use for that... not sure how much of that i can get but i'd be curious to see how cool that looks...
Well guys I just finalized a deal on some exotic wood dowels, I also stopped at the hardware store and picked up some red oak? maybe, no label, to experiment on tomorrow to see what I can come up with for shape, size and finish. I like Mack's idea of shaping them a bit, I am thinking very subtle hour glass shape with rounded ends, but am up for any suggestions.
How about a 3/32 hole for a keeper string? Tie it to your Whoopie sling with a loose stitch using heavy thread...
