Hammocks at Scout Shop
I have not been to my local (Northern Virginia) Scout Shop in some time. I was pleasantly surprised to see hammocks in their camping/backpacking section. This was all ENO brand, but they had single and double hammocks, bugnets, hammock straps, hammock flys, etc. Basically you could set up a nice summertime rig with what they had in stock.
Is this a cultural shift for Scouts? I hope so!

The scout shop in Raleigh, NC has had hammock stuff for a long time. I hope that this is showing a shift to a backpacking and leave no trace focus in Scouts. I love this is the case. I have been pushing these things in our local area scouts.

They started selling them at my scout shop in tulsa. i wanted to show it was a good desion for them so i put my money where my mouth is and i have bought a double nest, tarp and the little light set. didnot need it but wanted to suport the hammock movement in scouts.

Our Scout Shop has partnered with a local outfitters shop and they carry all Hennesy stuff. Good to see that it is at least being offered if not pushed.

I've seen the ENOs on our council web site for a few years, at a better cost than I bought mine at years ago. Also have seen hammocks in the scout stores at multiple scout camps as well.

Our council sales them at the Trading Posts at the camps too. Not sure how many scouts actually bring enough money to fully out fit hammock, bug net, tarp. My kids don't for sure! But they are there all ENO brand.
Not sure if ENO has cornered the Scout marked or not?

the Canadian Scout Shop carries Hennessy now :)

Maybe this is the beginning - sort of the way Youth Soccer brought appreciation for the beautiful sport to the USA. :)
