A question about adjustable ridge lines

Hi brothers and sisters! I just finished making the Peace Pipe 2.0 (actually, it's been done for a while, but I just cut the length down. Turns out a 11-foot hammy is NOT the greatest thing ever! :rolleyes:)

Anyway, now that PP2.0 is finished, I want a ridge line that I can adjust until I get the sag dialed in. What knot do you use to attach an adjustable ridge line? I've used a taut line hitch in the past, but the loop can slip off the gathered end knot. Is there a better knot for this? Maybe two fixed-length lines with an adjustable loop in the center?

I'm always up for learning a new knot! I L:boggle:VE knot tying! Thanks for your input! :D

Not sure this helps Pips since you love tying knots but I use and have used a whoopie sling as my adjustable ridgeline for my hammocks. Relatively simple and very light (especially in dynaglide).

Pips I also use a whoopie sling adjustable ridgeline.
I use the fixed eye to attach that end with a larkshead.
The adjustable loop, I have attached three different ways.
carabiner
soft shackle
Running the larkshead of my hammock suspension through the adjustable loop before attaching the hammock suspension to the hammock.

Before I went to whoopie ridgeline I used a line with larkshead on one end and did the Hennessy type wrap knot on the footend....http://hennessyhammock.com/articles/..._instructions/ Easy to untie and re-tie and adjust.

The tautline works for me. If your trouble is having the loop that is closed by the tautline jump ship, you can tie on a small ring or Dutch biner on the end of the hammock and arrange for that loop to pass through it. Ain't going no-where then.

I have a whoopie adjust with a Monkey's Fist on each end. The knot wedges in the hammock cloth, can't pull through the Lark's Head.

Another Whoopie sling user here. I have a locked brummel loop on one end, just like all of my whoopies. I measure the length of my hammock, then figure out 83% and make my whoopies to adjust a few inches either way.

I don't know what I did wrong, but the first time I made one, I decided that after I would replace the whoopie with a non-adjustable RL. Somehow I just couldn't get comfortable, so I through the whoopie back on and all was good. I measures a few times and the length was right, but...... So now I just use the whoopie.

I use slippery half hitches on both ends. While my SRL is adjustable, I have been just fine with 83%, so I didn't adjust it. Slippery half hitches work in amsteel.
