lightest suspension, fewest parts ??
Im getting blown away with the many suspension options, after watching shugs video and browsing the forums. What I am wondering and looking for is the simplest lightest option. I use an eno single nest and I want to make it as light as possible. Ideally I would like to remove the caribeeners and rope at the end of the hammock and tie it off in some way (dont know how), and replace it with a one strap system on both sides for the purpose of saving weight. I feel comfortable without a ridgeline and dont use one at the time.
What/how can I achieve this goal? Is it possible to just have webbing straps about 15 feet long that I can attach straight to the hammock? Is there a tutorial on these things? What is a good size webbing? Really just looking for the bare minimum, lightest weight suspension. Thanks

probably whoopies and toggles are the lightest but there is a fiddle factor
I like Dutch Clips and Cinch Buckle, not the lightest but very simple.
You can replace the rope that came with ENO and replace with Amsteel.
Ditto..
Depending on your weight... Long Dynaglide UCR with integrated tree strap hooked with the TI Dutch Clip..
Re: lightest suspension, fewest parts ??
My suggestion for lightest weight is UCRs... Search around there are tutorials on how to make them... I am currently hanging on a set of amsteel UCRs and they weigh 1/2 what whoopies weigh out of the same material... Because it is half the material... But a set of UCRs out od dynaglide weighs half of amsteel UCRs just because yet again dynaglide weighs roughly half what amsteel does...
And straps are all pretty much the same weight 1" wide poly straps are 1" poly straps... Stay away from nylon... Most people find 5-10' of strap works well, depending on area, tree size and tree distance...
