Whoopie sling bead?
Does anyone know if the whoopies Paul sells have the little bead in the loop so they can't accidentally be pulled through? Similarly, does he tuck the tail back into itself to make the free end a little too thick to accidentally pull through?(I'm sure there is a more accurate way to describe this)

I just looked more closely at the picture on his website and answered the second part of my question. He puts a fixed loop on the tail end. Still not sure about the bead. Thanks.

Not sure, but if not, I put little s biners on my slings. Work like a charm.

Actually we are doing the back splice on the slings tail and on the first question we don't normally do a bead but can on request. I also have a more permanent solution that works better than a bead if you want the more deluxe method of preventing a back splice in the adjustable end.

pgibson, I just made three sets of whoopies for my family. I was wondering if that could be a problem. I understand if what you are talking about is top secret, etc... but if not could you point me to a link or a simple explanation? I have two young kids and want to make everything child proof if you know what I mean. Thanks for any reply!

I just tie one of those cord lock replacer knots out of Wally world 1/8 cord from the boating department, mines pink. Just a simple loop with 4 whips over itself and then the end back through the whipping and pulled tight. Cut the ends short, heat and mold into the knot. It slides but doesn't go anywhere, doesn't crack, break and fall off like a bead and if it ever does get lost, easy to replace.

Might want to get something like a bead. I got my kit from Arrowhead and the whoopies didn't have a bead. Just accidentally pulled it through and going to need to buy a new set soon. I'm getting some with the beads.

Agreed. I put "split rings" (aka, key rings) on mine after pulling one loop into itself (was able to fix, thank goodness).

I put zip/cable ties on my whoopies that don't have beads. I just get some small ones ties and pull them down but not tight. I cut off the long end next to the locking end. Works like a charm
