I'm New
I stumbled on to hammock camping on YouTube. I was looking at videos on alcohol stoves and that is where I saw Shug and one of his brilliant videos. This led me to his videos on hammocks and that to videos by others.
I've ordered a hammock and tarp from Warbonnet and they are waiting at my house for my return. I cant wait to get it set up and start testing my gear prior to an upcoming trip to the Smokey Mountains.
I'm going to need a portable setup to hang in my back yard as my trees are way too far apart to hang between them. Any suggestions on non-permanent stand for one end would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking forward to this new chapter in my camping adventures. I'm sure I will find considerable help here on this forum.

Welcome from Michigan! Check out the DIY section for ideas on homemade stands. Also Google searches work really well for finding older threads on info here. I don't even have a back yard so I can't give you much info on stands. But welcome there is a ton of info on this forum and lots of friendly people who know a whole lot more than me!

Welcome from Denver! I'd highly recommend the TurtleLady or TurtleDog stands as great non-permanent uses. You won't even need one tree if using these:
