Blackbirds & weight limits
OK, so I own a WBBB 1.7 double layer and love it. But I have to admit that it's a bit over the top for my size and weight (5.4 foot / ~130 lbs). Newbie mistake. I will probably order a lighter BB to save pack weight. But I'm not clear about how to read the weight limits for the different BBs. I'm definitely sticking with the double layer hammock as I actually like the feel of my Therm-a-Rest in the hammock.
The Blackbird Double Layer 1.0 has a weight limit of 240 lbs.
The Blackbird Double Layer 1.1oz has a weight limit of 260 lbs.
When selecting the best fit, how much weight do you add to your body weight? How much "safety margin" would/should you have?
Is there a difference comfort-wise?
When I was first looking into hammocks, the Hennessy support recommended that I go for a larger sized hammock since I was planning to use it extensively and it would be more comfortable. Would I notice the difference between a 1.0 and a 1.1 BB? Or should I simply go for the lightest option?
