Ridge line out of what?!
Noob question here… I have a DIY hammock and now want to start experimenting with a ridgeline. I've read that the ridgeline does not support your weight. So can I use something not very strong like clothes line that I have laying around the house to start experimenting or do I need to go to find something more substantial? Trying to avoid a trip to the store...
Thanks!

What ever you choose to use for your ridgeline, use a cord that doesn't stretch too much. Many of the after market ridge lines a made from Lash-It or Zing-It which is a light weight hollow braid dyneema cord.

Thanks Brian,
I wanted to experiment before spending the money on a "real" ridgeline. Good to know about the stretch. Thanks again!

I've used paracord in a pinch. Any strong cord will do for testing purposes.
I use a prussik to make mine adjustable...
