I'll go ahead and tentatively commit. I may be able to help too.
I'll be talking again to the rangers about how much we can "fan out" into the woods surrounding the group site & if there will be a firm cut of at 35 people.
If so, there is a trail head just across the road from the group site that leads to the AT & other fine backpacking areas not much more than a mile away.
Hopefully as they have opportunity, we will receive feed back & suggestions from some of those that took part in the Spring MAHHA group hang & hammock demonstration event.
Maybe some of them will take part as well.
Hey! Just came across this today. I think I will be able to come allong. There will be 2 of us hanging, and a tent for 2. Will a tent be ok? ....I'm also thinking about getting a vendor tent to sell some UL alcohol stoves that I make. Think there will be any interest?
Good to have you. Tents are welcome too.
About selling the alcohol stoves, you'll just need to contact the rangers at GHSP to find out about being a vendor. If that works out, you could ask about setting up near our hammock demo area if you like.
My understanding is that we will be not far from the building were food is sold & the music. The main craft/vendor area is a short walk up the hill.
Perfect! My daughter and I are the hangers, she is 5 1/2. Husband and our 3 1/2yo son wil be tenting, unless my boy wants to hang too. I think I'll make him a hammock and see how he likes it. After all, if she has one, he will NEED one.
Just stumbled across this again. I'll see if I can make it real, soon.
