DIY adjustable webbing
Hey everbody i'm going to be totally honest I'm a cheapskate and I'm kinda impatient haha I made adjustable webbing suspension using ratchet straps that i cut the hook out of and fused the end. I put a loop in one end of the strap and then ran the other end through two small steel rings attached to the end of my hammock. It was really easy and I have a video of How i rigged the rings on the end of my hammock (except on that one I used whoopie slings) on my Youtube channel. Please share what you did for your suspension and how you did Its always awesome to get new ideas. -Matt

I basically did the same thing. Used my dog's old 25" training lead from when he was a pup and cut it in two. One end had a loop I made a lop in the other and bought stainless steel rings, walla! Easy adjustments annd works great.

Whenever I think about buying/making new gear I order supplies I need for suspension beforehand so I can have something to do while I wait. Like make another set of whoopies for permanent attachment to a new hammock, ready when it gets here.

I prefer Dutch's Cinch Buckles w/straps and Dutch Clips or Warbonnets strap system with Dutch Clips.
Either way its way easier and all stays with the hammock, nothing to leave on a tree when your 10 miles down the trail when you realize what you did:(

I have a set of descender rings on my H.H.Explorer Deluxe with 14' custom 4800lbs B.S. polyester webbing straps. It works great and easy to use but I am reserving it for car camping for now. Some pics of the straps and hammock rings below..Dont have a picture of them together yet..

I use a little of everything but prefer Dutch Clips, straps, and cinch buckles.

I take my little goodie bag with clear pockets, pick what I want to use for the particular situation. Not ultra light camping, however I am prepared for anything that I might want to hang from, plus I can loan out to my fellow travelers.

My wife and I have 7/64th amsteel whoopies on our individual hammocks and we have ring buckles and webbing on our tablecloth hammock. I like both suspension systems equally.

I like rings and straps in the winter and whoopies in the warm weather. My cold hands can work the rings much easier.
