New Guy
Hello to all you crazy kids hanging out there. I am a new candidate to the hammock world and am very likely ging to jump in with both feet. Can I go wrong with the war bonnet *1.7???? I'm an avarage sized guy 5'10 190. Live in the cold dry climate of south central Texas. I have to get off the ground, my shoulders hurt, my back hurts and the heat and humidity is relentless. Help the new kid not make the same mistakes

Welcome to the forums!
Tons of good advice and great people.
Someone from the warbonnet clan should show up soon to welcome you and provide pointers...

No I don't think you could go wrong with a Blackbird at all. I have two, a 1.7 double layer with whoopies and tree straps, and a 1.1 double layer with the stock strap suspension. I like them both, The 1.7 with whoopies is a little lighter than the 1.1 with stock strap suspension. I first got the 1.7 for me and then a Hennesy Scout for my 8 year old grandson, and then.... the 1.1 for my wife. I am about 5' 9" and around 190 myself. I can use either but initially got the 1.7 from here on the buy/sell board. One reason I went with it to start with is in case a heavier family member or friend wanted to hang in it sometime. Check out the boards, there are all kinds of deals pretty often. Welcome to HF and Happy Hanging.

WB makes some very nice hammocks. I have the BB 1.7 dl. Nice and roomy with no shoulder squeeze. But whatever you land on be looking into some sort of bottom insulation. I got a KAQ since they are a bit cheaper for my first one. Man does it make for a nice sleep.
