Wish I had a cooler name.. or even a trail name.. but SMJerry is what short for Scoutmaster Jerry.. it's what the young Scouts in my Troop call me... so it works I suppose.
Badchef was a screen name that I had when I met my wife online. It really means 'Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad Chef' as in good cook. I love to cook and have been the chef of the family since I was about 12. Cooking was one of the things that attracted my wife to me. I had to have something working for me, because I certainly married up.
That and the Swedish Chef is my favorite Muppet.
Mine started back when I first started mt. biking. While everyone I rode with was riding bikes with full suspension or suspension forks, I was riding my old rigid frame Diamondback. They were all saying I was psycho for riding without any type of suspension so hence the name rigidpsycho.
My name. Because my name is sexy.....
Another awkward moment by the Water Monkey.
I'm a retired Navy Chief and I am really pround to say that my name was given to me by my guys. Being a old school chief taking care of my men was always my number one priority and I was fiercely protective of them. My guys appreciated me having their back and used to call me Poppa K. One day things weren't going as I thought they should and I was especially grumpy. One of the guys remarked dang Poppa is a real bear today. The name stuck and from then on I have been Poppbear.
Short version ... as a kid my favorite stories were centered around Daniel Boone, the 1700's and the Leather Stocking Tales ... pretty much anything around the French & Indian War period. My favorite character to play in the woods was old Nattie Bumbo or Hawk-eye ... it stuck. Re-surfaced again when a Master Chief found out about it back in the day and well ... just kept using it.
Guess ya don't have to grow up if'n ya don't want to! :woot:
My name and the fact that I reside in MN.
Patrick J Mont(y)plaisir (no y in my name, but in the military, my family has always been called Monty).
