It's got nice coverage (about 9x9), sturdy tie-outs, and isn't extremely heavy. And it's $20!

I've used the 5 x 7 in the summer and hung across the 7 ft. corners it gave me acceptable coverage, even in a windless rain. Close....but it was okay. I keep one in my kit as a spare for a small dining tarp, shelter, etc.
it's ok.... but you also have to lug around steel poles!
Dearly And Sincerely, Jonah!
I just got a 10'x25' piece of 6mil at home depot. It was 25$. I made a cheap green house for the garden using duck tape and Velcro. I'll let you know how long it lasts, but it looks like as a tarp it will be big enough for two.
I have one of those and I used it on the wet ground under my hammock. I could put my gear and clothes/boots on it and keep them dry. I used my larger tarp (11.5 x 11.5 feet) overhead on the last trip since it was raining. I am sure I will find other uses for that 5 X 7 tarp, but it sure was useful on that rainy night.
